The village of Paliouri near Halkidiki, Northern Greece, is mourning the loss of a young child, just 2-years-old, after her father accidentally ran her over with his pickup truck.
The incident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. in the yard of the family’s home, after the little girl escaped from her mother's attention and followed her father, who accidentally hit her while reversing.
The 38-year-old immediately got out of his vehicle when he heard her screams and saw his little girl bleeding on the ground.
Although the girl was rushed to Kassandria's Public Health Centre, doctors declared her dead on arrival.
An investigation has been launched into the exact circumstances of the incident.
