Led by world number six Stefanos Tsitsipas, Greece’s Davis Cup team will take on the Philippines in Manila this weekend for the World Group II play-offs.

Tsitsipas will be joined by his brother Petros (world number 1169), Michail Pervolarakis (world number 424), and Markos Kalovelonis (world number 705).

Despite being on the team, Pervolarakis is not expected to play this weekend due to injury. Greece’s captain is Dimitris Chatzinikolaou.

On the other hand, Jeson Patrombon is the highest-ranked singles player on the Filipino team at 1421 in the world. The matches will be played on indoor clay courts at the Philippine Columbian Association. Two singles matches will take place on Friday, followed by three matches on Saturday (one doubles match and two additional singles matches, if necessary). The Greeks are heavy favourites to win this tie.

The winning nation will compete in the World Group II in September, while the losing nations will compete in their Regional Group III later this year (dates to be announced).
