The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia – District of Northcote Victoria, have announced the cancellation of its 2020 Youth Conference due to coronavirus concerns.
The announcement posted reads: “Dear Youth Conference guests and delegates. With the blessing of our Archbishop the conference tomorrow has been postponed until further notice, due to concern regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. We wish to ensure the safety and well-being of all staff, volunteers, attendees and families. Please stay tuned for more upcoming information regarding our event.”
The popular and highly anticipated event, ‘Let Your Light Shine’ was scheduled to be held on Saturday March 14th at St John’s College in Preston (Melbourne). The youth conference aimed to strengthen faith beliefs, learn about the light of the world, Our Lord Jesus Christ, meet new friends and have fun.
His Eminence Archbishop Makarios was looking forward to meeting all the participants, however, taking precautionary measures was imperative and necessary.
