British historian & filmmaker Bettany Hughes will showcase the "Wonders of Greece"

With the support of the Greek National Tourism Organization, the popular and award-winning historian, author, and broadcaster Bettany Hughes is coming to Greece to film her new television project, which is dedicated to the country.

Entitled “Wonders of Greece” the 60-minute TV program will focus on the country’s culture and landscape.

“The whole film will be a letter of love for Greece … Each shot of the show will be a visual and verbal promotion of Greece, its culture and landscapes, in the United Kingdom, Ireland and worldwide,” Greek National Tourism Organization announced.

The shooting of “Wonders of Greece” is scheduled for the end of September 2020, in:

  • Peloponnese (Olympia, Nafplio, Monemvasia, Sparta, Mystras, Epidaurus)
  • Athens (Acropolis and Ancient Agora)
  • Delphi
  • Pella (possibly if the budget allows)

The program will initially air on Channel 5, Channel 4 and ITV, and also on BBC 4, between Christmas 2020 and January 2021, periodS when UK holidaymakers are usually considering booking their summer holidays.
