Over the next few days, temperatures are set to reach 40°C across Greece, with the National Meteorological Service issuing a weather warning on Friday.
The heatwave is predicted to start today Saturday, August 29, until Tuesday, September 1.
According to reports, Monday and Tuesday will be the hottest days in Attica.
Public health officials advise the elderly and those with babies to stay indoors during the day and to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
