Party horns blaring, cardboard face masks of Kostas Antetokounmpo, flowers and his family eagerly waiting. “This is how you great a champion right here,” Giannis Antetokounmpo shouted at the airport as his younger brother Kostas arrived in Greece.
“The champion is back home… first Greek to ever win a championship,” Giannis kept on repeating.
On Sunday night, the Lakers beat the Miami Heat 106-93, to win the NBA Finals in six games.
22-year-old Kostas Antetokounmpo became the first member in his family to win an NBA championship.
The excitement was so high that the ‘Greek Freak’ had “no words”.
“I know this guy. We were sleeping in the same bed. Four of us. We are from the same family. Same household. Champion. First Greek to ever be a champion. First Greek to ever be MVP. And we just keep on getting better. We are not stopping. We are not stopping. It’s just crazy man. This is crazy. You guys don’t understand how we feel as a family. Our family is happy. Our family is blessed. We keep on getting better every day,” Giannis Antetokounmpo stated.
