Greek Foreign Affairs Minister tests negative but remains in Covid-19 quarantine

Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias has tested negative for COVID-19, however he will continue to quarantine after coming in contact with a person who tested positive.

Dendias was scheduled to meet with visiting Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on Wednesday.

Dendias thanked everyone for their messages of support on social media.

Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Kostas Fragogiannis is also self-isolating, following contact with an infected person.

Meanwhile, Greece has imposed a nationwide night curfew (9pm-5am) starting from Friday the 13th of November. This aims to curb the spread of covid-19.

Exceptions: people who need to leave the house for work, health reasons or a short walk with a pet. They will have to send an SMS to 13033, or have a document from their employer.
