Blessing of the waters hijacked in Adelaide

There was high drama at the annual Blessing of the Waters at Glenelg, with police forced to intervene in a fiery spat over a rogue contestant.

The day was marred by controversy when individuals didn’t register, and didn’t start at the sand, along with the rest of us, as per the rules. It was absolutely shameful that one of these individuals obtained the cross, believed himself to be the rightful winner, and held onto it, refusing to hand it over. It was only when police got involved that it was returned to the Archdiocese.
