World Title Fight: George Kambosos Jr vs Teofimo Lopez Jnr

It's happening.

The world title fight for George “Ferocious” Kambosos Jr.

"I'm preparing now for the biggest fight of my life. You can't get bigger than a world title  fight. This is everything I've worked for. From a young kid I've always dreamed about fighting for a world title and becoming a world champion. So this is it now," unbeaten Kambosos told GCT.

The International Boxing Federation (IBF) officially ordered lightweight champion, Teofimo Lopez Jr, to defend his belt against Kambosos.

Lopez won the IBF crown in late 2019 after he pulled off a 12-round unanimous win against Ukrainian superstar, Vasyl Lomachenko.

In November, Kambosos fought like a Spartan in the boxing ring against Lee Selby. He prevailed 118-110 and 116-112 against a bizarre card of 115-114 from judge Phil Edwards in a split decision.

Now the Greek Australian boxer ready to shock the world with the biggest fight in Australian boxing history… between him and Teofimo Lopez.

"There's no escaping it. At the end of the day Lopez has to fight me or else he has to release that belt," he added.

"All I have in my mind is becoming a world champion."

George's fans in Australia, Greece and all around the world can't wait for the world title fight.

According to the 'ferocious' boxer, Kambosos vs Lopez could happen in Australia, possibly in either Melbourne or Sydney.

When it comes to George’s fans he has no words. He is extremely grateful for all their support.

"I truly believe I will win this fight.”

Greek City Times will continue to follow and support George ‘Ferocious’ Kambosos Jr on his journey to championship glory.
