Giannis Parios used the proceeds from his latest double album “Ah Agapi…Ah Erota”
(Αχ Αγάπη…Αχ Έρωτα) to buy two ICU beds for Metaxa Cancer Hospital of Piraeus.
“I wish that the beds we brought for the ICU are always empty… I wish health to all,” Parios said.
In a post on social media, the Deputy Chairman of Metaxa Hospital, Sarantos Efstathopoulos, wrote that Yiannis Parios “proved once again that he is not just the singer of love, but the Man of true love for his fellow man‼”
Γιάννης Πάριος is a Greek vocalist, with a career spanning five decades.
He has worked with many of the leading Greek composers, including Manos Loizos, Yorgos Hadzinasios, Stavros Xarchakos, Stamatis Spanoudakis, Yorgos Katsaros, Marios Tokas, Yannis Spanos and Mikis Theodorakis.
A number of Parios’ songs have been translated and sung abroad, including the mega hit ballad Aporo, which is considered one of the most popular Greek songs.
One of his releases also holds the record for the most Greek sales- this was the album “Nisiotika” released in 1982.
