Last minute goal sends Olympiacos to the UEFA Europa League's Round of 16

Olympiacos

Olympiacos Piraeus has qualified for the final sixteen round of the UEFA Europa League after yesterday’s match against PSV Eindhoven.

The team led by Portuguese manager Pedro Martins won the first leg 4:2 last week in Greece, but conceded two early goals in yesterday's match because of Israeli forward Eran Zahavi.

Yet Olympiacos fought back and in the 88th minute, striker Ahmed Hassan shortened the score to 2:1, leaving the Red and Whites victorious over the Dutch team in the aggregation.

The Egyptian has proven to be a very important asset for the Greek team and yesterday secured the ticket to the next stage.

The Piraeus-based club is about to face Arsenal FC in the next round, with the matches taking place on March 11 and 18.

This is an interesting match-up since both teams faced each other last year in the Europa League Round of 32, in which Olympiacos emerged victorious.

The result this time remains to be seen.
