Erdoğan: I regret Saudi Arabia is conducting joint military exercises with Greece

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his "regret" over the upcoming joint Greek-Saudi military exercises, Duvar reported.

"I regret that Saudi Arabia is conducting joint military exercises with Greece," Erdoğan said.

"I will discuss the matter with Saudi officials," he continued.

"We think this should not have happened," the Turkish President added.

Saudi transport aircraft and six F-15 fighter jets have arrived in Souda to take part in joint exercises with the Greek Air Force.

His comments were made at the same time that the Turkish President said "the friendship between the Egyptian and Turkish peoples is greater than the relations between the Egyptian and Greek peoples."

This comment triggered strong reactions from Egyptian twitter users who disagreed with the Turkish President, as reported by Greek City Times.
