Located on Plateon in Metaxourgeio, Athens, is the historic building that for more than 130 years manufactured Greek silk scarves.

The machines of the factory worked non-stop until the end of the 90’s and produced, with the unique technique, high quality silk scarves.

According to Greece’s Ministry of Culture, cleaning and restoration works are underway at the building.

“The building that for many years housed an important traditional productive activity can be the core of a substantial intervention in this area of downtown Athens, and act as a catalyst in upgrading the area,” Minister of Culture and Sports Lina Mendoni said.
