Australian PM will celebrate Greek Easter with local community

Mr Scott Morrison will attend the Easter service at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Resurrection of the Christ, located in the suburb of Kogarah Sydney, Australia.

The church is in Mr Morrison's federal seat of Cook and is Australia's first Pentecostal prime minister

The president of the local Greek-Orthodox Parish and Community Mr Nickolas Varvaris (a former federal MP himself)  confirmed to SBS Greek radio the Prime Minister's would be in attendance tonight.

The Easter service will be conducted by Greek-Orthodox Archbishop Mr Makarios, having in his side the Bishop of Militoupolis Mr Iakovos and Bishop of Meloi Mr Emilanos.

Tony Abbott  a former Australian politician who served as the 28th Prime Minister of Australia attended the Easter service at the same church years ago.
