We praise our Risen Lord Jesus Christ because a bright and glorious day has dawned for our Parish today, full of hope and optimism for the future. We feel grateful that a few days after His Resurrection, we are being counted worthy to experience the joy of our own resurrection free from shackles that have grippes us for eight whole years.

We also feel grateful to our Shepard, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios, for his paternal responsibility and the determination with which he intervened and solved this chronic problem that plagued our parish.

Having known, from the time of his arrival, and having experienced his fervent love for the entire Greek Orthodox flock of Australia, we have no doubt that his struggle would swiftly bear fruit for our own parish also and that we would taste the fruits of his peace-making endeavours.

Standing before an historic milestone, with much joy, emotion and filial respect we express our heartfelt appreciation to our Archbishop and, inspired by his example, we are committed to move forward in a spirit of love and unity, and to work with faith, eagerness and loyalty.
