A 22-year-old man who allegedly stalked and exposed his genitals to a woman in southern Athens, has been charged.
It is alleged the man followed the victim home and tried opening the door to her apartment building in Nea Smyrni on Wednesday night. When he was unsuccessful, he exposed his genitals.
The young woman posted the security camera footage on social media, which has since been deleted.
According to reports, a neighbour of the girl recognised the perpetrator from a hangout he frequented, and reported him to the police.
He was arrested on Thursday and charged with stalking and sexual exposure.
She also recalled the terrifying ordeal. “I had never seen him before, but I learned that he is from Nea Smyrni. He did not speak to me at all. He did not address me. I was followed 300 metres from the tram stop to my house.. I rushed in but he seemed persistent. He went to push the door to see if it opened and as shown in the video, he had his genitals out. I saw it on the camera…. And now I am going to the Police because they told me they caught him. Come and identify him. They are sure that it is him,” the victim told Protothema.

As the footage circulated on social media, three more woman in Athens came forward- another in Nea Smyrni, one in Acropolis area and one in Palaio Faliro.
He reportedly told police that: “When Ι see a beautiful woman I want to approach her” and denied all allegations.
The 22-year-old will appear before a judge on Friday.
