The Board of Directors of the Castellorizian Association of NSW on behalf of her daughter Rose Adgemis and her extended family, wish to inform the community of the passing of our most senior Australian Castellorizian, Eleni Confos. Eleni passed away peacefully at the age of 109.5 years. May her memory be eternal.

Eleni was born in Greece in 1912 on the small
island of Castellorizo her parent’s names are Tsiko and Garifalya Galettis. Eleni was one of eight children, all of whom have passed away.
In 1931, Eleni wed George Confos in Castellorizo before travelling to
Australia, where George previously was employed at a fish shop with his brothers on William Street, Sydney.

Being the family’s eldest daughter, she played a prominent role in their upbringing and helped them make their way to Australia after her.
