Greece registers among lowest inflation rates

Greece registered among the lowest annual inflation rates in the euro area  in June this year at 0.6% along with Portugal (-0.6%) and  Malta (0.2%) according to the latest figures published by Eurostat.

The highest annual rates were recorded in Hungary (5.3%), Poland (4.1%) and Estonia (3.7%).

It should be noted that the euro area annual inflation rate was 1.9% in June 2021, down from 2.0% in May.  A year earlier, the rate was 0.3%. European Union annual inflation was 2.2% in June 2021, down from 2.3% in May.

Compared with May, annual inflation fell in twelve Member States, remained stable in four and rose in eleven. In June, the highest contribution to the annual euro area inflation rate came from energy (+1.16 %), followed by non-energy industrial goods (+0.31%), services (+0.28%) and food, alcohol & tobacco (+0.15%).
