A 44 year old artist has reportedly hung himself from his home balcony in the suburb of Rafina.
According to reports, the victim, who was found by neighbours hanging from his balcony yesterday morning, had left behind a suicide note explaining the reasons for committing suicide and was known to have been suffering from psychological issues including depression.
The artist had actively participated in therapeutic painting programs with a team of psychologists of the Children's Oncology Hospital, in the "Marianna Vardinogianni" wing.
It is worth noting that in 2013 the victim strangled his own mother to death with a cable and defended his actions by accusing her of abusing both him and his sister.
He then served a short sentence in the psychiatric unit of Korydallos prison and shortly after his release, he came to police attention again when in 2016 he was accused of indecent acts against his ex-partner.
