Pakistani terrorists caught trying to enter India's Kashmir

An infiltration attempt was made by Pakistani terrorists to cross Kashmiri Line of Control in the Uri Sector on the night of 18/19 September 2021.

Taking advantage of dark night, uneven ground, bad weather and thick undergrowth, Pakistan harboured terrorist group Lashkar-e-Toiba attempted to infiltrate six terrorists from the general area of the Pakistani post of Jabri.

During the infiltration attempt, while two terrorists were crossing the LoC, a patrolling party established contact with them.

Taking advantage of the thick undergrowth, four terrorists ran back towards the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir side of the LoC, while two terrorists were caught.

Additional forces were deployed and multiple patrols were launched in the suspected areas. Getaway routes were blocked.

On the night of 25 September, contact was again established by one such patrol with the terrorists. approximately 800 metres inside the LoC.

During the day on September 26, one Pakistani terrorist, Atiq ur Rehman from Distt Attock district in Punjab (Pakistan) and aged 33, was eliminated.

The second Pakistani terrorist, named Ali Babar Patra from Distt - Okara Punjab (Pakistan), surrendered and was captured alive without any harm.

The Indian Army does not differentiate between a local terrorist or a Pakistani terrorist if they surrender peacefully.

The route taken by the terrorists to infiltrate was from Sawai Nala Terrorist Camp to Hallan Shumali Launch pad to Jabri, leading into Salamabad Nala.

It is pertinent to mention that it was along Salamabad Nala, the same route used by terrorists that had infiltrated Kashmir in 2016 with the help of Pakistan Army and carried out suicide attack on Uri Garrison.

The surrendered terrorist revealed that his group of six were primarily from Pakistani Punjab.

Despite this terrorist scare, Kashmir Valley is returning to peace, much to the discomfort of Pakistan and its proxies.

The infiltration bids indicate Pakistan’s desperate attempts to sustain cross border terrorism and bring in weapons to orchestrate violent incidents in the valley by hiring mercenaries from Pakistani hinterland of Punjab.

Pakistan Army’s connivance in abetting infiltration continues, as it is difficult to attempt crossing the LoC without active support of local Pakistan military commanders.

As per the surrendered Pakistan national, the group of six terrorists crossed the LoC fence in the shadow of the forward Pakistani post Jabri.

Last week, a total of seven terrorists have been neutralised and one terrorist apprehended, including five along the LoC.
