General Konstantinos Floros, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, was awarded with the prestigious Medal of the Legion of Honour from the French Republic.
The Chief of the French Defence Staff, General Thierry Burkhard, said in a Twitter post: "I'm very honoured to have awarded the Legion of Honour to General Konstantinos Floros, in the name of the close links which unite our two armies."
In a follow up tweet, he said: "We share a common strategic vision for the security of the European continent and its neighbourhood. The Greek armies are today an important partner of the French armies in the Mediterranean and elsewhere."
