Registration for J&J booster shot to open on November 5

People of any age who have been administered the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be able to register online for the booster shot as of November 5, Primary Health Care Secretary General Marios Themistocleous said on Tuesday.

During a briefing, Themistocleous said the only prerequisite is that two months have elapsed since they got vaccinated with the single-dose J&J vaccine against coronavirus. He added that people will be given they option of having the booster shot with an mRNA vaccine: initially, Pfizer’s and later on Moderna’s.

In a change on the platform (emvolio.gov.gr) as of October 29, the type of vaccine will be listed next to each vaccination center.

Among the numbers he cited, over 6.6 million Greeks are fully vaccinated. This corresponds to 63% of the general population or 71.4% of the adult population. In the EU, the corresponding average rates in the EU are 68.7% and 79.7%, he said.
