The threats from Turkey are taken into account and will be dealt with in the best diplomatic way, said the Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiadis, noting at the same time that there is interest from Europe about Turkey’s challenges.

Anastasiadis, who was attending the Economist Conference in Nicosia, responded to a journalist comment that there was a delay on the part of Brussels in the EU decision regarding Turkey’s provocations against Cyprus.

“There is interest from the European side,” the president said, adding that “as you know, an information report based on the intelligence service will be discussed next week, which records what has unfortunately happened or is happening.”

“Threats from Turkey are definitely taken into account and will be dealt with in the best diplomatic way,” he said.
