Mount Athos monks vaccination COVID-19

Mount Athos was closed to outside visitors during the last COVID-19 lockdown and now has opened status under strict restrictions.

At the moment only rapid test is required for the entry of the faithful.

Under these conditions, many monks rushed to carry out their COVID-19 vaccination, as recently the vaccination centre in the settlement of Karyes of Mount Athos is fully operational.

It is worth noting, however, that several monks have already fallen ill with the disease.
