Armed Turkish F-16 Jets violate Greek Airspace as Ankara increases tensions

Six THK F-16s that violated  Greek airspace and the Athens FIR 39 times on Monday were armed reported Greek media.

According to Proto Thema, ‘the armed Turkish F-16s flew over the Aegean sea and engaged in three incidents of mock dogfights with the Greek jet fighters.

‘Turkish fighter jets flew in three formations in the Northeast Aegean, while an ATR-72 naval cooperation aircraft flew individually.

‘In total, there were seven violations of national airspace and five violations of air traffic rules in the Athens FIR. The Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted in accordance with international rules, in accordance with established practice.’
