Greek police seized more than 180,000 “jihadist” drug pills on island of Rhodes

Police announced the seizure on Monday of more than 180,000 “jihadist” drug pills on the island of Rhodes reported Greek media.

According to Kathimerini,  the drugs, known as “Captagon” were seized last Thursday when drug enforcement officers found two bags filled with the pills on a beach near the island’s capital.

Captagon is known as the “jihadist’s drug” because of its use by ISIS fighters in Syria, where it is still thought to be illegally produced.

‘On the same day, 40 bags with swastika symbols containing over 80,800 tablets of an unspecified drug were found off Kastellorizo. It is possible the bags were part of a larger cargo that was trafficked or confiscated either in Turkey or in another country in the Eastern Mediterranean.’
