Tsipras accuses government of failed neoliberal choices

SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras lashed out at the government accusing it of “failed neoliberal choices” against both the workers and the unemployed, at a meeting with representatives of the Manpower Organisation (OAED) on Monday.

“After dissolving the labour relations with the ‘Hatzidakis’ law, which in fact abolishes the 8-hour shift and makes easier the dismissals in the private sector, now it comes to form a framework that puts the responsibility for the unemployment on the unemployed citizens,” Tsipras said.

“We are now in a state of crisis and these extreme neoliberal choices are dangerous,” he said, referring to “the worst government in the worst timing.”

“We pay the cost of its ideological obsessions; for example the privatization of PPC amidst an energy crisis,” it said.

“The government promotes the obligation of training over the right to work,” the opposition leader stressed, adding that “this is how it degrades OAED”.
