Greek Australian boxing champ George Kambosos Jr faced off in a fiery exchange with Devin Haney during a lively press conference in Australia today ahead of their match on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Marvel Stadium, Melbourne.
During the press conference, Kambosos called Haney a ''rat'' and an ''informant'':
“This guy is a rat. Teofimo Lopez fight against a foreigner, he was messaging me. He was telling me all the details,” Kambosos said.
“Teo at the hookah lounge, Teo having problems with his wife. This is a rat. This is an informant.” The accusation from Kambosos being that Haney should've supported fellow American Lopez against a foreigner, not undermining him.
Haney responded:
“When is the act gonna stop,” Haney said. “We can see right through it. Just be you, that’s all you gotta do. Be you. You’re acting.”
“I’d rather be an actor than a rat!" Kambosos quipped back.
