AEGEAN Airlines

AEGEAN received another important distinction at this year’s 2022 Skytrax World Airline Awards, winning for the 11th consecutive year and 12th in the last thirteen years, the title of “Best Regional Airline in Europe”.

Specifically, in the awards announced on Friday, September 23 in London, AEGEAN was awarded as the “Best Regional Airline in Europe” for the 11th consecutive year, while it also received 2nd place in the “Best Regional Airline Worldwide” category. At the same time, it continued to be among the top 10 airlines in Europe for its cabin crew and the travel experience they offer their passengers.

Commenting on AEGEAN’s award, Mr. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, said “Over the years, AEGEAN has established itself as an airline that consistently ranks at the top of the World Airline Awards survey and its emergence as the ‘Best Regional Airline in Europe” for the 11th consecutive time is undoubtedly an extremely important achievement. But at the same time as its equally important distinction as the 2nd “Best Regional Airline Worldwide” and its steady rise to the top ten of the best companies in Europe for the cabin staff it has.

“At a time when global challenges as well as the increased desire to travel have created turbulence in air travel, the recognition of the effort that all of us at AEGEAN put in to continue to offer a unique travel experience to our passengers takes on even greater significance. So, as always, this distinction belongs primarily to our people, while at the same time it is the commitment of all of us to continue winning the preference and love of our passengers”.

Skytrax, a UK-based airline and airport review and ranking site, launched the World Airline Awards in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that was truly global.

The awards remain totally independent and impartial with all the customer survey costs and awards event paid for by the organizers.

Travelers across the globe participate each year in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the winners.

The online survey entries are screened to identify IP and user information with all duplicate, suspect, or ineligible entries deleted, Skytrax says.

More than 350 airlines are featured in the final award results.
