Hardalias’ visit to the checkpoints of Chalkis, Kasos and Astypalaia – See images

The Deputy Minister of National Defence, Nikos Hardalias, completed on Wednesday his two-day visit to the islands of the Eastern Aegean. During his trip, he visited the headquarters of Units and Guard Posts of the Army and the Navy, as follows:

– The Guard Post of the same name, in Chalki.

– The 3rd National Guard Company/National Guard Battalion of Karpathos, in Kasos.

– The 2nd National Guard Company/Kos National Guard Battalion, in Astypalaia.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was informed by the Commands about the current operational and training activities of the Units and spoke with the Executives, the Enlisted Soldiers and the National Guardsmen.

Additionally, during his stay in Astypalaia, he visited the TROUPAKIS Guided Missile Fast Patrol, which participates in the “COASTAL IDENTIFICATION 2022” Exercise.

Hardalias was informed by the Governor about the mission and the operational capabilities of the boat, and he spoke with its crew and watched on-board operational training objects as part of the Exercise.

Finally, Hardalias met with the Mayors of Chalkis, Mr. Evangelos Fragakis, Mr. Michael Erotokritos of Kasos, and Mr. Nikolaos Komineas of Astypalaia, as well as with the Commanders of the local Security Services.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was accompanied by the Commander of the Supreme Military Command of the Interior and Islands Lieutenant General Dimitrios Houpis.

Also present were the Commanders of the 95th National Guard Battalion Senior Command Major General Dimitrios Vacentis, the 80th National Guard Battalion Senior Command Brigadier Spyridon Kogiannis and the Deputy Commander of the 95th National Guard Battalion Senior Command Brigadier Michael Roussinos.
