Kastoria Greek Army liberates

On this day in 1912, the town of Kastoria in Macedonia is liberated by the Greek Army.

Today is also the Feast Day of Agios Minas, Patron Saint of the City.

The town today is known for its many Byzantine churches, Byzantine and Ottoman-era domestic architecture, its lake and its fur clothing industry.
