According to a Turkish analyst speaking on CNN Türk, the war in Ukraine is being waged between the USA, UK and the West with Russia, so therefore the crisis between Greece and Turkey is essentially a crisis between the US and Turkey.
The analysis presented by Yeni Şafak journalist Hasan Öztürk attempts to conduce feelings of expansionism among Turkish citizens.
"They have taken a position against us"
"America and France, with whom we are together in NATO, indirectly because of the crises we are experiencing with Greece, have taken a position against us," claimed the Turkish journalist. "Now they are arming the Aegean islands and we, based on our rights stemming from the Treaty of Lausanne and Paris, declare that we are opening the debate on their sovereignty."
And he explains: "For example, in Ukraine. Is Ukraine at war with Russia? No. America, England and the West are at war with Russia. In this sense, the crisis between Greece and Turkey is essentially a crisis between America and Turkey. Everyone knows that."
And he warns: "A Turkish citizen who sits in Assos and sees Lesvos, sighs. The Greeks must understand this. Someone from Izmir who sees Chios from Çeşme, sighs. The Greeks should not forget this."
