A 23-year-old Pakistani man was found guilty by the Dodecanese Appeal Jury for the rape of an eight-year-old boy in Kos four years ago.

The court that examined the case, accepting the independent claims of the defence counsel Ms. Elpidas Kyrbasi, recognised his good behaviour while in jail and sentenced him to 8 years in prison for the crime of rape and 8 years in prison for sexual acts with a minor under the age of 12.

This amounts to 12 years in prison, according to the Greek judicial system.

It is worth noting that at first instance, in January 2021, the Pakistani was sentenced by the Mixed Jury Court of Rhodes to a total of 15 years in prison (ten years in prison for each offence), Sky Rodos reported.
