MG returns to Greece

MG

MG is a brand that we have forgotten in Greece as it left the market for many years. Despite all that, even today, its cars can be seen on Greek road.

It is a historic brand that started in Great Britain 99 years ago (1924) and managed to establish itself in the global automotive industry, until 2005, when it went bankrupt.

In the same year, China's Nanjing acquired the rights to use MG. In 2007 it was passed to the also Chinese SAIC, which acquired Nanjing. In 2019, the brand returned to Europe and to important markets with the aim of making its models available in the Old Continent.

Sales started very well and recorded significant numbers. The former British brand, and now Chinese, has a presence in almost 20 countries with sales exceeding 100,000 units in 2022.

This is an important business move that will give new impetus to the specific Group which will have the possibility to bring affordable models to Greece.

The Vasilaki Group imports and distributes the brands CUPRA, Hyundai, KIA, SEAT and recently, in cooperation, the models of FCA (Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep).

The Chinese brand MG now offers a range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with very affordable prices. The development of the models takes place in Shanghai and London and the production of the vehicles in China.
