The Athens Tattoo Convention returns this year on May 12, 13 and 14 at TAE KWON DO, in Palaio Faliro. The beloved international tattoo festival, described as “one of the best in the world”, turns 15 this year and is celebrating with a grand, blockbuster event.
The festival that started as an internal need of a small group of people who were united by their love for the art and culture of tattoos has now developed into a major internationally renowned institution, an annual global meeting of ink lovers, counting in these 15 years, 4,500 entries and 600,000 visitors.
This year, the huge urban party of the Athens Tattoo Convention will be even more enriched, and will, of course, also have a festive character: 400 artists who are the enfant gâté of tattoo artists from abroad and Greece compete and showcase their art with live tattooing and tattoo contests, while the parallel actions include: Dj sets, Live Bands, Food & Drinks, Art Exhibitions, Game Rooms, Graffiti Show, Bike and Skate Show, Kids Playground, Body Painting, Show Acrobatics and impressive fire performances by Tonia Banila.
The event will peak on Saturday night with RACK performing live, the 22-year-old Greek rapper, who in just two years has “swept” all over Greece with awards and a tour.
It should be noted that the Athens Tattoo Convention has been supporting the Make A Wish Organisation since the first day of its creation.
Through the STAR YOUR BODY initiative, in which the visitor gets a tattoo of selected star designs, 100% of the proceeds go to the organisation and the fulfillment of wishes of children suffering from serious illnesses.
