The Sikh community in Pakistan has been struck by an unfathomable tragedy, leaving hearts shattered and spirits broken.

Manmohan Singh, a Pakistani Sikh shopkeeper, fell victim to a brutal act of terrorism in the city of Peshawar .And this happened just two days after Tarlok Singh, another Sikh shopper and a Hakim, narrowly escaped a similar terrorist attack.

This appalling incident has awakened a sense of urgency within the Sikh community in Peshawar, compelling them to reach out to the international Sikh community, including the esteemed Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), seeking assistance to ensure their safety and security in these perilous times.

Akal Takht  jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh condemned the attack and killing of Sikh youth living in Pakistan.

With great concern and urgency, the Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Raghbir Singh, has responded to the distressing incident, shedding light on the precarious safety and security of Sikhs residing in Pakistan.

In the face of this disheartening reality, he appealed to the Indian government to confront this issue head-on with the Pakistani government at the diplomatic level.

In light of these distressing circumstances, Giani Raghbir Singh appealed to the government to dedicate a department or heritage mission that includes representatives from the Sikh community with a primary responsibility to oversee and protect the invaluable religious heritage of Sikhs in Pakistan.

Baba Ji Gurpal Singh, a religious and social activist based in Peshawar informed that the victim, Manmohan Singh,29, who has a cosmetic shop near Rasheed Garhi Chowk, a mere five-minute distance from Gurdwara Bhai Joga Singh attacked by terrorists while he was on his way home in an auto rickshaw.

The assailants, riding a motorcycle, heartlessly aimed their bullets at his heart and head, snuffing out his life in an instant.

Earlier on June 23, terrorists had targeted Hakim Tarlok Singh at Rasheed Garhi Chowk. Although three assailants fired five rounds, Tarlok Singh managed to find shelter beneath the counter, miraculously surviving the attack.

Shockingly, the terrorist Islamic organization Daesh claimed responsibility for this assault, leaving us perplexed and indignant. Why do these terrorist organizations target the peaceful Sikh community?

With heartfelt sincerity, Gurpal Singh appealed to the international Sikh community, with a special emphasis on the SGPC, to recognize the challenges confronting the Sikhs in Peshawar and take appropriate actions and initiatives to ensure their well-being.

In the face of this heart-wrenching tragedy, it is imperative that the international Sikh community stands in solidarity, lending unwavering support to their brethren in Peshawar. Let us come together to combat the forces of terror, ensuring that the Sikh community can live their lives with dignity, peace, and security.

Meanwhle the president of the SGPC Harjinder Singh Dhami, has vehemently denounced the attacks targeting Sikh minorities in Pakistan.

He emphasized the urgent need for the Pakistani government to prioritize the security of minority Sikhs within their borders.

Dhami lamented that such unfortunate incidents had occurred in the past as well. He stressed that if the government had taken severe action against the culprits in previous cases, this recurrence could have been avoided. Therefore, he urged the Pakistani government to take strict measures against those responsible for the brutal killing of Manmohan Singh.

Additionally, the SGPC president appealed to the Indian External Affairs Minister to express strong objections to the Pakistani government on a diplomatic level. He urged the Minister to demand appropriate actions and initiatives from Pakistan to safeguard the lives and property of minority Sikhs in the future.
