Leonardo DiCaprio made a post on Instagram congratulating the Greek state for its efforts to preserve biodiversity.

The Hollywood star, a member of the UN who deals with climate change issues, pointed out that Greece became the first European country to establish laws to preserve the biodiversity of areas.

Specifically, he published a photo of a Greek landscape on his personal Instagram account.

In the caption of his post, he wrote: “Greece recently became the 1st European country to recognize Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) in its laws & policies. KBAs are the most important places in the world for the persistence of biodiversity and play a critical role in the planet’s overall health."

He then added: "Congratulations are in order for the Greek government in leading the way by highlighting #KeyBiodiversityAreas as a key tool for expanding a network of protected areas and preserving biodiversity on Earth."
