The people of Rhodes opened their houses to accommodate tourists who left their hotels in droves due to the fire.
Of course, some experience Greek hospitality differently, like James from England, who, together with his girlfriend, celebrated his birthday with other fire victims who sang to him on his 28th birthday.

The fire-stricken tourists have only good words to say about the people of Rhodes who, from the first moment "embraced" them so that they would not be in danger from the fires.
Dozens of locals were from the first moment at the closed stadium to prepare the space for hosting the fire victims.
Volunteers recorded the needs of the people temporarily in the accommodation while at the same time they had classrooms in private schools where volunteers had rushed to coordinate the situation.
Several of those who have come on vacation with their families to Rhodes, are hosted in the homes of locals on the island, continuing their vacation until they can return safely to their countries.
