Greece won gold at the 28th FIRA RoboWorld Cup in Germany!

There was a great success for Greece at the 28th FIRA RoboWorld Cup, held in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, from July 17 to 21, 2023!

Makerlab won 1st place worldwide in the competition for the K19 age category after three days of demanding tests.

The competition consists of 3 challenges which are completely unknown before their start!

The first of these focuses on the material part of the robot (construction challenge - hardware), the second on the logic (programming challenge - software), while the third test focuses on the cooperation of robots and groups of children from different countries (united).

The three teams of the Makerlab team included students who had distinguished themselves in the UML (Unknown Mission League) Western Greece tournament of the HERO Hellenic Educational Robotics Organisation last January.

Makerlab-2:

Galazoulas Efthymios (Agrini High School Music High School)
Sarakis Konstantinos (6th GEL Agrini)
Halvantzis Eleftherios (Papasstrateio High School of Agrini)

Makerlab-3:

Alexopoulos Ioannis (3rd High School of Agrini)
Kammenos Nikitas (7th High School of Agrini)
Sideris Spyridon (3rd GEL of Agrini)
Tagas Gerasimos (1st GEL of Agrini)

Specifically the Makerlab-1 team, having won comfortably the individual first in the software test, won the 1st prize worldwide in the competition, among over 50 teams from all over the world!

It is worth noting that both the Makerlab-2 and Makerlab-3 teams were close to global distinction, with the former taking 3rd place in the united test! The team was accompanied and coordinated by the coaches Angelidis Ioannis (H.M.M.Y. E.M.P. student) and Theoharis Panagiotis (founder of Makerlab).
