Turkey Aims to Restart EU Membership Talks in Bid for Economic Boost

Turkey is eager to rekindle discussions about its potential membership in the European Union (EU) in an effort to boost investment, following President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's economic team overhaul after his re-election in May.

During a summit in Austria, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek expressed the government's desire to embark on a transformative journey by resuming talks with the EU. Simsek emphasized that Turkey sees the EU as a source of inspiration for change and believes it is the best alternative available.
