A forest with 990 cannabis trees was found in Heraklion, Crete

An area of ​​typical forest was covered by the vast cannabis plantation that was spotted on Monday by the police officers of the Department of Combating Organised Crime of Crete during an exploration operation organised in a mountainous area of ​​the Municipality of Viannos in Heraklion.

In the specially designed area that the police forces arrived at, a thousand cannabis plants were being cultivated in the growing stage, Proto Thema reported. They left behind enough evidence, which was sent to forensic laboratories and may reveal their identity.

Nine hundred ninety cannabis seedlings up to 1.20 metres high were uprooted and confiscated. The investigations to locate the cultivators of the "orphaned" plantation are ongoing, with the preliminary examination being undertaken by the Department for Combating Organised Crime of Crete.
