With a touching post on Facebook, which he accompanies with the corresponding video, the beekeeper Giorgos Karafyllidis says goodbye to his bees that were burned in the village of Kirki in Evros.

In the video, the beekeeper walks, crying, among the burnt beehives. "Only sheets left... My bees... All coals, only the lids remained," he said.

The post is accompanied by the phrase: "My beautiful souls, my sweet little girls, the cruellest death has found you. Never having any demands, only obligations. You just wanted a little water in the prolonged heat. I ache just thinking how quickly and nervously you flapped your wings to save your Queen from the smoke and flames so that your swarm would survive after your death. I will suffer long for the unequal fight to the end that you fought. No matter how many bees I make for you, I will always have a black part in me. Thank you for everything, my little girls."
