The well-known singer Rita Ora reacted to a video where she is seen dancing on stage holding the flag of Serbia.
In a statement to the media, she said that the flag was given to her by a fan and she never knew which country it belonged to. Rita Ora said that she realized that the flag was Serbia’s, after she left the stage.
Further, Rita said that she is a proud Albanian and that her intention was not to disrespect her people.
“Last night while performing at the SZIN Festival in Hungary, I was given a flag by a young fan. From the lighting directly in my eyes and on the stage, I could not clearly see which country the flag represented. As soon as I left the stage, I realized that it was a Serbian flag and not a Hungarian one. While I support all my fans, from all countries and cultures, I want to make it very clear that I am a proud Kosovar Albanian, and it was not my intention to disrespect my heritage, or upset my people or my family.” , Rita Ora said.
Rita was performing in Hungary on Saturday night at the Szeged Youth Festival when a Serbian flag was thrown at her by fans.
