American filmmaker, actor, and comedian Woody Allen will be in Athens next month to promote his new film “Coup de chance.”
The screening, which will be introduced by the director himself, will take place on September 8 at Cine Aegli, the outdoor cinema at the Zappeion, as part of the 29th Athens International Film Festival Premiere Nights.
COUP DE CHANCE is about the important role chance and luck play in our lives. Fanny (Lou de Laâge) and Jean (Melvil Poupaud) look like the ideal married couple –they’re both professionally accomplished, they live in a gorgeous apartment in an exclusive neighborhood of Paris, and they seem to be in love just as much as they were when they first met. But when Fanny accidentally bumps into Alain (Niels Schneider), a former high school classmate, she’s swept off her feet. They soon see each other again and get closer and closer… Written and Directed by: Woody Allen
Starring: Lou de Laâge, Valerie Lemercier, Melvil Poupaud and Niels Schneider.
On the following evening, Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band will be performing at the iconic open-air Odeon of Herodes Atticus.
Directed and written by Allen, the film goes on general release on September 27.
