Tragic death of passenger at Piraeus port as crew members push late arrival off ship

In an unfortunate incident tonight at the Piraeus port in Athens, crew members of the ship Blue Horizon were observed forcibly removing a 36-year-old passenger who had arrived late.

Tragically, as a result of this altercation, the passenger lost his balance, fell into the sea, and tragically lost his life.

After the man fell into the water inside Piraeus, the largest passenger port in Greece, the ferry “travelled for 40-50 minutes” until instructed to turn back by a prosecutor. The ferry company, Attica Group, are “shocked by the tragic incident”, a statement reads.
