F1 is NOT coming to Greece

F1, Formula 1

The F1 confirmed that the sporting event is not arriving in the Mediterranean country.

Formula 1 responded to a summer article by News Auto that Greece wants and will propose an F1 race in Athens. In a personal communication that a Formula 1 executive had with the head of the outlet, Takis Trakouselli, it was emphasised that Athens still needs to be discussed.

“There are no plans for Formula 1 to race in Greece,” the executive told News Auto.

They even pointed out that there has yet to be a discussion, not even… a behind-the-scenes conversation.

The original report said that Athens offered itself as a candidate to host the racing event at the metropolitan park of “The Ellinikon”, built by Lamda Development.

In fact, in the studies submitted by the construction companies, it has been requested to consider the possibility of easy adaptation, according to the needs of such a huge event and without disturbing residents and businesses.
