Nine soccer fans sought on European warrants for their involvement in deadly violence in Greece last month have been arrested by Croatian police, according to state television station HRT.

Greece had issued arrest warrants for 10 fans of the Dinamo Zagreb soccer club from Croatia, but one remains at large. The fans, who are members of the Bad Blue Boys fan group, are suspected of participating in the violent incident in Athens in August that resulted in the death of a Greek fan.

Numerous other Croatian soccer fans have already been detained in Greece in relation to the violence, which led to the cancellation of a Champions League qualifier match against Dinamo Zagreb. Video footage showed a group of youths with bats and iron bars running past the stadium while flares and firebombs were being set off, resulting in 10 people being injured.
