In the singles final, Greek player Maria Sakkari is the favorite to win the title against American player Caroline Dolehide, who will try to continue making history in the WTA 1000 series.

Sakkari will step onto the court on the last day for the second consecutive year, seeking revenge after losing to American player Jessica Pegula in the 2022 final. In this match, the Greek player will try to end her negative streak of six consecutive final losses, the most recent being in the Washington tournament where she lost to Coco Gauff.

Meanwhile, Caroline Dolehide, recognized as the biggest surprise of the tournament in the best week of her life, became the second player outside the top 100 to reach a WTA 1000 final, and she wants to be the first in history to win the championship with that ranking status. The Illinois player is currently ranked 111th in the world.

Sakkari and Dolehide have never faced each other on the court. Last year in Guadalajara, both experienced different situations. Dolehide was eliminated in the first round after losing to her compatriot Danielle Collins, and Sakkari reached the grand final.

On the other hand, in the doubles final, the tournament’s number one pair, Elise Mertens from Belgium, and Australian player Storm Hunter, will face the third seeded duo, consisting of Canadian player Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand player Erin Routliffe.

Mertens and Hunter are currently ranked 4th and 6th in the world doubles rankings, and the Australian player is the defending champion in this category in Guadalajara, where she won the title last year with Brazilian player Luisa Stefani.
