The 28th Greek Film Festival in Australia: A Cinematic Extravaganza in Down Under

The 28th Annual Greek Film Festival - Australia is set to enthral audiences from October 19 to 29 in Sydney and Melbourne and from October 24 to 29 in Adelaide.

Opening night will feature the compelling film "Behind the Haystacks" by Asimina Proedrou, Greece's submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film this year.

In honour of the 80th anniversary of the deportation of the Jews of Thessaloniki, a special tribute titled "80 Years from Thessaloniki to Auschwitz" will include remarkable documentary screenings.

As part of the Greek Film Festival, the 11th Greek Student Film Festival returns, showcasing a collection of imaginative films created by primary and secondary students studying the Greek language. This segment of the festival is made possible with support from the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs | Η Ελλάδα στον Κόσμο Γιάννης Χρυσουλάκης.
