The Athens MICHELIN Guide 2023 Is Out!

Tudor Hall Athens Hotel Acropolis view Michelin Guide

The 2023 selection of the Athens MICHELIN Guide sees three restaurants receive One MICHELIN Star:

Hervé

At this restaurant, led by chef-owners Hervé Pronzato and Grigoris Kikis, typical Greek cuisine is influenced by France, Italy and even Asia, in a dynamic 15-course menu. The restaurant is an experience in itself, with a Japanese-style bar and open kitchen.

Tudor Hall

Tudor Hall

A newly-selected restaurant that astounded the Guide’s famously anonymous inspectors; directly earning it its first MICHELIN Star. This elegant eatery, located atop the King George Hotel and with breathtaking vistas, offers high-quality, contemporary cooking by chef Asterios Koustoudis.

Patio

 Patio

Another newly selected restaurant scoops its first star. Located in the mesmerizing The Margi Hotel, chef Panagiotis Giakalis offers modern fare, revealing delectable Mediterranean flavours in each dish, with sophistication and a farm-to-table philosophy.

All of the Starred restaurants from 2022 maintain their culinary distinction.

One restaurant receives a MICHELIN Green Star

Introduced in France in 2020, the MICHELIN Green Star aims to highlight restaurants at the forefront of sustainable practices, inspiring their guests but also their peers.

This year, restaurant Patio joins Delta and Soil — which were awarded last year by the MICHELIN Guide inspectors.

With its farm-to-table approach ensuring the use of the best local produce to enhance local recipes, and heartwarming Greek flavours, Patio knows how to make a difference and encourage diners towards sustainable gastronomy.

Two new Bib Gourmand restaurants were included by the famously anonymous inspectors

A firm favourite among foodies, the Bib Gourmand selection proposes establishments that offer tasty, high-quality and authentic food at a fair price:

Jerár

Outside Athens’ crowded tourist area, in this informal eatery with an appealing open kitchen, chef Charis Nikolouzos highlights his Greek roots, with some French and Italian touches. Enjoy the laid-back atmosphere and the generous sharing plates that showcase fresh and local ingredients.

Fine Mess

Fine Mess

Chef Elena Kaperda, already known for the ‘Lick the Spoon’ pastry project, provides a BBQ offer, focusing on smoked flavours. An original concept in town, in a cozy establishment, where diners can savour the ‘Low & Slow’ approach.

All the Bib Gourmand restaurants awarded in 2022 maintain their distinction.

Newly selected restaurants

In addition to the restaurants already mentioned above, the MICHELIN Guide Athens 2023 also welcomes Seeds and Simul to its international family of exceptional restaurants.
